Bethel high school opens teen health clinic
BETHEL, Alaska (AP) — A high school's new teen health clinic is the first like it in the Bethel region.
KYUK-AM reports (http://bit.ly/2b8DLCd) Bethel Regional High School, the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation and Public Health Nursing worked together to open the facility at the start of this school year.
The facility is next door to the school and is intended to increase access to medical services for an age group that isn't always a priority in health care.
Dr. Mien Chyi is the pediatrician who will mentor residents working at the clinic.
The facility is open every other Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
People can call the school or the health corporation to make appointments.
