Ascension public schools fight bullying with new campaign
GONZALES, La. (AP) — The Ascension Parish school district is partnering with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office to give students a simple, anonymous way to report bullying.
In the coming school year, The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/2afSuub) students will be able to text 847411, type in APSO and their message about a bullying incident and send it anonymously.
Parents can also use the anonymous tip line to report bullying.
The effort has been spearheaded by school board member Lorraine Wimberly and makes use of an anonymous tip line already in place by the sheriff's office.
