High school business competition plans statewide event
JACKSON, Mich. (AP) — An effort that invites Michigan high school students to develop solutions to real-world business problems is expanding with a statewide competition.
IChallengeU previously offered regional contests, including recent events in Jackson and Holland.
Baker College is sponsoring the statewide competition. Regional winners in 2017 will be eligible for the state contest, with the top prize for the winning team members being a Baker College scholarship for a two-year associate degree, or equivalent.
IChallengeU is a two-week summer educational opportunity that pairs high school juniors and seniors with local employers. Teams compete as part of an effort to help overcome the shortage of trained workers. On the final day, judges pick winners.
The state competition is "IChallengeU Michigan" and will take place at one of Baker College's campuses.
