Bentonville school officials approve stadium campaign
BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) — The Bentonville School Board has approved a fundraising campaign to raise at least $6 million for part of a stadium expansion at the new West High School.
The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/29LEvfs ) reports that the board approved the campaign by the school district and athletics staff Monday. Athletic director Scott Passmore presented an outline of the two-phase expansion to the board.
More than $6 million would be needed for bleachers for 3,100 people, a 27-seat press box, space for concessions and restrooms, bleachers for the band, a ticket booth and some roadwork.
The second phase of the plans would cost more than $5 million, and includes an expansion of visitor side bleachers, ticket entries for the home side and a practice field. Plans also call for a center field logo, more locker rooms and more parking.
