During the holidays it is common for toy drives to ask for donations. Yet collecting toys (although, of course, crucial) is only the beginning. Just as Santa has his elves to wrap presents, toy drives need volunteers to help get their donations organized and ready for distribution.
RAINE (Reaching All in Need Everyday), a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2001 to assist children and their families who are in crisis, is hosting three gift sorting events this week at Holy Family School in Hazel, New Jersey. Volunteers are need to organize thousands of gifts by age and gender, use confidential wish lists to “shop” through the organized donations for the right toys for the right children and then wrap each one.
The RAINE Christmas Sorting, Shopping and Wrapping events are taking place Monday, December 14 at 6 pm; Wednesday, December 16 at 10 am and Wednesday, December 16 at 10 pm. Volunteers are also needed for toy distribution on Thursday, December 17 at 6 pm.
